Cristian is an experienced lawyer part of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution team of KPMG Legal in Romania. Cristian is advising and representing clients on legal matters since 2011 and has a successful track record in managing complex disputes, representing both national and international companies in commercial and administrative litigations. Cristian has gathered expertise in the highly regulated energy sector, representing one of the largest power and gas distributor and supplier in various disputes against the Romanian authorities. Before joining KPMG Legal, Cristian spent more than 9 years as part of the Real Estate and Litigation and Dispute Resolution practices of Clifford Chance and 5 years as Managing Associate in act Legal - Botezatu, Estrade and Partners.

Among the most important projects were assisting one of the largest energy company in a complex litigation against the Governments’ Emergency Ordinance regulating the state aid granted for consumers by instituting a price cap for energy and gas supplying services; assisting one of the largest energy company in different litigations against the Romanian Energy Regulating Authority for annulment of various administrative orders issued by the authority related to the recognized costs for the distribution activity of gas/electric energy as well as assisting Industrial Instal Service (energy trader) in front of both the Bucharest Tribunal and Bucharest Court of Appeal against Hidroelectrica on a claim related to the abusive enforcement of a guarantee letter. He also assisted Romania Hypermarchet in front of the Bucharest Tribunal in a litigation against a real estate developer (Topo Holdings/Vic City) with respect to the development of a commercial center.
