Cătălin Oroviceanu


Cătălin Oroviceanu, head of the Corporate and M&A practice, has over 17 years of legal practice with extensive transactional experience gathered while acting for clients in numerous industries.
Cătălin has been involved in numerous M&A transactions, representing buyers and sellers alike throughout the entire transaction process, starting with due diligence processes and continuing with the negotiation and closing of sale-purchase agreements, joint venture/shareholder agreements, management agreements and any other transaction related documentation. He has also carried out complex restructuring processes (mergers and spin-offs) for both high-profile and local investors.
Cătălin has a commercial, deal-making approach, gathered not only while acting as advisor for various deals but also as head of legal with a Private Equity fund active in Romania. He shares the view that understanding the business model of the client is essential and that the lawyer’s advice should always be tailored to be complementary with such business model.
He is regarded as an expert in corporate law, as he regularly publishes articles and has taught corporate law for 10 years.
He has a Ph.D. in law and he completed his LL.M. with the University College London, Faculty of Laws.
